This policy explains what [YOUR BUSINESS NAME] ("we") collects when you use Ship It Yourself at [YOUR DOMAIN], and what we do with it. Short version: we collect what we need to run the course, we don't sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you buy or log in. It's how you log in and how we reach you about the course.
- Your purchase, meaning what you bought, when and how much. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Your progress, meaning which lessons you've marked done.
- Questions you ask the course guide, including any screenshots you add. We keep a daily count to apply the limit.
- Basic usage data such as pages visited, device type and approximate location, from our hosting and analytics provider. It isn't linked to your name.
How we use it
To give you access to what you bought, remember your progress, answer your questions, send you login links and important course updates, prevent abuse, and improve the course. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run the course, each for its own job:
- Stripe processes payments.
- Supabase stores accounts, purchases and progress, and sends login emails.
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Anthropic answers questions sent to the course guide. Your question, the lesson text and any screenshot are sent to Anthropic to produce the answer.
- WhatsApp, if you choose to join the community. Other members can see your phone number there.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies
We use a cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account, plus whatever we must keep for tax and accounting records.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@shipityourself.org. Deleting your account removes your access to the course.
Children
The course is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you. The date at the top shows the latest version.
